We are delighted to announce to you that our bid for The Beaufort Theatre has been successful subject to a final executive meeting next Wednesday March 15th 2017.
We will be moving in to the building on April 3rd with a handover from Aneurin Leisure Trust who currently manage the asset on that day.
We are most keen to speak with existing theatre users to chat about how we can continue their use of the theatre space for their annual shows and also very happy to speak with new clients too.
As the company moves on into its second decade, we have plans to expand in a variety of different ways, one of which includes the expansion of our Board of Trustees.
We are delighted that Brigadier Robert Aitken CBE has joined us as Patron and Andrew Tuggey CBE is our Company Champion.

More of our new ventures to follow.
Last night saw the beginning of an extensive summer education and outreach programme. Our company dancers Catrin, Julian and Sarah worked with over 60 children in Blaenau Gwent linking in with our new work from t e n Tour 2016 with partner organisations Toppers Dance and Aneurin Leisure Trust. Later this week we will be working with another 50 children and young people at The Beaufort Theatre in Ebbw Vale.
Next month, we will be working with children in Brynmawr as part of a partnership programme with Tai Calon Community Housing, bringing professional dance to young people over a period of 2 free weekend courses. We will also be working with the Music Department at Tredegar Comprehensive: using music composed by the pupils themselves, we will be choreographing a new piece of work to be performed in the Aneurin Leisure annual dance showcase.
July sees the company delivering a number of Summer Dance Schools in Blaenau Gwent in partnership with the Arts Development team at Aneurin Leisure.

This autumn has been an amazing time for our outreach projects with last night’s performance being no exception.
Together with the Arts Development team at Aneurin Leisure, we at the ffin dance faktry co-produced Off The Street, a dance showcase that saw over 70 children and young people from Blaenau Gwent, Wales UK sharing their work in a local theatre. The energy and enthusiasm from all of the young dancers was truly infectious and the sell-out audience was thrilled with the production. It was great to hear related stories from parents: one in particular told us how she had made good friends with other mothers that she didn’t really know very well, and their children have also become good playmates since starting dance classes 4 years ago. They had all bonded together because of dance.
Another parent told us that she had really enjoyed the performance which was presented in the round. She liked being “up close and personal” to the performance to see the joy in her daughters face when she was dancing; never having seen that look before, not even opening her Christmas presents!
We have 1 more outreach event before Christmas on Monday 14th December 2015, at Ebenezer Chapel in Abertillery, Wales UK. This event will see our young people from the ffin dance faktry share class and dance pieces with their families and friends and also raise much-needed funds for the coming year.

I want to say a huge thank you to Sue, Megan, Effie, Mike, and Catrin for making my work placement an amazing experience. They are all fantastic people who were very welcoming and friendly and showed me the amazing ‘behind the scenes’ side to FFIN DANCE, including the rehearsal processes, technique classes, feedback sessions, and the community projects
I have to say a huge thank you to them all for allowing me to interview them and ask many questions which have taught me A LOT about how a real company runs and works in the professional world. I also thank you all for allowing me to use my camera (A LOT) during the two days I spent with them!
I also want to say that the performance I was privileged to watch on my final evening with Ffin Dance was absolutely amazing! The movements were fantastic and beautiful and the four dancers looked stunning on stage. Also the live musicians were fantastic and really enhanced the mood and performance.
Ffin offers fantastic opportunities for anybody of any age to enjoy, which is done through their community projects, which I was lucky enough to observe while I was there. They have a great reputation and many people return continually to take part in the workshops that Ffin offer to the community.
Finally I want to say thank you again to everyone for making my placement very enjoyable and educational. I wish every success for Ffin in the future and I will definitely be keeping in touch with them all and will most definitely be booking tickets for their next tour!!!
